44,342 residents have voted early thus far

The Georgia secretary of state’s office Tuesday announced 44,342 statewide residents have cast ballots during early voting for the July 22 primary runoff election. Early voting started June 30 and ends July 18. The numbers are for votes cast through Monday and include in-person and mail-in ballots.

Cobb County leads the way with 2,439 ballots cast, followed by DeKalb (2,401), Fulton (1,706), Chatham (1,705) and Gwinnett (1,687) counties.
