Foxhall Family Festival is one such event, which is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Foxhall Farm and Sporting Club, 8000 Capps Ferry Road in Douglasville.
“The outdoor festival, featuring fun, games and activities, is expected to grow into the biggest event of its type in Douglas County, and be the largest fundraiser for the Douglas County School System,” said Karen Stroud, director of community relations.
The festival will feature recreational activities appealing to children of all ages and parents alike, Stroud said.
“Our goal is to sell between 10,000 and 25,000 tickets for this inaugural event,” Stroud noted.
All activities are outdoors and feature festival games, pony rides, archery, fishing, inflatables, hayrides, music, a petting zoo, fun runs, food trucks, craft vendors and a special middle and high school activity section.
Attendees may pack a picnic lunch or purchase food on site. Folding chairs may be brought onto the festival grounds.
Tickets are $5 per person, and free for children 3 and under and may be purchased at any school in the Douglas County School System or online at www.foxhallfamilyfestival.com.
For the grown-ups
The Family Alliance of Paulding is hosting its inaugural Masquerade Ball on Friday evening from 7 to midnight at 655 West, located at 655 Rich David Road in Hiram.
This fundraiser for the Family Alliance is about 90 percent sold out, according to board member and event chairman Jim McMichen, so those interested in attending should not delay in purchasing tickets.
Cost of the evening is $25 per person.
The evening’s activities will feature auction items, delicious food from Cajun’s Cookin’, a great band and dancing, McMichen said. Photos will also be available for purchase.
“All money goes to supporting programs we offer,” he said.
These programs include drug awareness, prevention and rehabilitation, a supervised visitation program for children involved in juvenile court deprivation cases and a family resource center.
“Our visitation programs and supervised visits allow children and parents to be reunited in a safe environment,” McMichen said.
This event is one of four fundraising events put on by Family Alliance of Paulding, and as is tradition, will feature a signature drink — “the Masquerade Splash,” added the event chairman.
The marquee sponsor for the event is TechWeb Logistics.
