North Paulding senior point guard Jalexis Teemer has developed into one of the top guards in Paulding girls’ basketball, averaging 11 points per contest over the last four games.

“I’ve been a consistent contributor on both offense and defense this season for the team and have a better overall attitude,” Teemer said.

Head coach Scott Green said Teemer is adept at handling the basketball.

“She has taken on more of a scoring role this season while still rebounding and dishing out assists. Jalexis is also a tremendous leader on and off the court,” Green said.

Teemer, a four-year starter on the varsity team while holding a 90.7 grade point average in the classroom, takes her leadership responsibilities seriously for the Wolfpack.

“I’ve been working with the younger players since the summer,” Teemer said. “I’m a vocal leader who tries to talk with them and answer any questions.”

Teemer played on the Peak Performance AAU team out of Atlanta this past summer and is a member of the Student Athlete Leadership Team at North Paulding.

She also has been on the school’s track team, participating in the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints.

Teemer plans to continue playing basketball in college while pursuing a career in the medical field as an athletic trainer or occupational therapist.

The Wolfpack will return to action on Friday, hosting East Paulding.
