Belmont Village to host Veterans Day event Thursday

Belmont Village Senior Living Buckhead, 5455 Glenridge Drive in Sandy Springs, will host “What I Fought For: An Aging Hero Remembers,” a special Veterans Day program Thursday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

World War II veteran Dave Mann is the event’s special speaker. Mann joined the military just days after his 18th birthday and won three Purple Hearts. He survived the attack on D-Day and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mann and his wife Rona live in Rhode Island.

Mayor Eva Galambos will open the event by recognizing local veterans. A reception will follow the presentation.
