Cartersville police on Monday released the photo of a man wanted in connection to a shooting at a local motel last week.

Christopher Michael Collum, 25, allegedly shot a 24-year-old Adairsville woman in the face July 20 at Courtesy Inn on Hwy. 411.

According to a report from the Cartersville Police Department, the victim said Collum, “was acting all gangster” while playing with a 9 mm handgun while hanging out.

After the victim told Collum “You couldn’t shoot anybody,” a witness said the wanted man responded with “Yes I will. I’ll shoot you,” the report stated.

The witness said Collum was “just playing” with the victim when he pointed the gun in her face and when the gun discharged, Collum ran from the scene, the report stated.

Collum was last seen in a blue Ford Ranger with a green hood with a Confederate tag on the front with the Georgia license plate number PIF2892.

The victim was transported to Grady Medical Center in Atlanta, where she was initially listed in critical but stable condition, Capt. Mark Camp with the police department said.

Collum faces charges of aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Anyone with information as to Collum’s whereabouts should call the police department at (770) 382-2526 or the Tip Line at (770) 606-5337.
