Polls opened at 7 a.m. at Bartow's 17 precincts and at at least one precinct voters were waiting and ready to cast their ballots when the doors opened.
According to the office of the Bartow County Elections and Registration, at an Adairsville precinct, 100 voters were waiting in line to vote when the precinct opened. By mid-morning 400 had reportedly cast ballots at that precinct.
No official numbers have been reported but traffic to polls across the county have been steady.
Elections Supervisor Joseph Kirk estimated a turnout of about 75 percent for today's election, which will determine among other things, the next president of the United States and the fate of Amendment One.
