DeKalb sanitation collection will resume Friday

DeKalb County Sanitation will resume garbage collection Friday on a modified schedule.

All residential customers with Tuesday scheduled garbage collection will be collected Friday beginning at 8 a.m.; Thursday scheduled garbage collection will be collected Saturday and Friday garbage collection will be collected Sunday.

There will be no single stream or yard trimmings recycling collections Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week.

Commercial collection normally scheduled for Tuesday will be collected Friday; Wednesday and Thursday commercial collection will be collected Saturday and Friday and Saturday commercial collection will be collected Sunday.

All transfer stations and the Seminole Landfill will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Animal Crematory, Seminole Compost Facility and customer service will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Monday is a county holiday and no residential collection will occur. Sanitation will resume residential collection Tuesday based on the holiday schedule.

In the event that roads are impassable for collection services, call sanitation at (404) 294-2900 for missed pickups.

County administrative offices, including other parks and recreation facilities, senior centers, water billing offices, recorders court and other administrative divisions are closed today.

Power outages can be reported to Georgia Power at (888) 660-5890 for residential customers, and (888) 655-5888 for commercial customers. Snapping Shoals EMC customers can call (770) 786-3484, press option “1”.

County residents are urged to use extreme caution and check their local news for updates regarding severe weather. Tips for getting through cold weather safely and a listing for non-emergency numbers for various county departments are available at www.dekalbcountyga.gov.
