Henry County voters will also have the opportunity to vote on a referendum regarding a proposed 1-percent special purpose local option sales tax extension, aka SPLOST IV.
The last day to register to be eligible to vote in the general election, special elections for Hampton and McDonough city council or the Dec. 3 runoff, if needed, is Oct. 7.
Absentee voting begins 21 days before a municipal election.
Absentee ballots are available by mail or in person.
In-person absentee voting, aka advance voting, begins Oct. 14 and will continue through
Mailed ballots can be sent out by the elections office until Nov. 2 and are due back by Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
Any eligible voter may request and vote an absentee ballot without specifying a reason for his or her absence from the polling place on Election Day.
No absentee ballots can be mailed or voted in person the Monday before the election.
