The senior standout ran away with the girls’ individual title while leading the Lady Vikings to victory at the Region 6-AAAAA cross country meet.
Cora recorded a time of 19 minutes, 14 seconds to top all challengers.
It’s just her latest honor during a breakout season for Cora, the team’s No. 3 runner last season.
“Jenn has really stepped up — not just her running, but as a role model for the rest of the team,” said Lakeside coach Rick Barbe. “She has a gift … really, I think her success comes from hard work.
“At every single practice, she’s giving 110 percent 100 percent of the time.”
The region championship is one of several individual titles Cora has racked up this season. She won the Carrollton Orthopedic Invitational in September and the Coach Wood Invitational in October.
Cora also took home MileSplit- Georgia “Runner of the Week” honors last month.
“I think her biggest handicap is that she cares for opposing runners too much,” said Barbe. “She’s just a terrific person … who works really hard.”
Cora can next be seen leading the Lady Vikings at the state cross country meet Saturday at Carrollton.
