Mills, an outside-hitter that was the lone Roswell player selected as a member of 4AAAAAA’s All-Area First-Team list, is the team’s leader in kills (442) and is second on the squad in aces (51) and digs (365).
“Although Alex is just a sophomore she is confident in her ability, always looking to improve her game and her teammates have a lot of respect for her,” said Roswell volleyball coach Casey Carr. “She puts a great deal of pressure on herself, which she uses to create her drive to be great.”
Carr said Mills’ inspired play on the court is derived from her dedication to the game of volleyball, both as a Lady Hornet and as a member of the A-5 volleyball club.
“She has a true love of the game, and that’s evident every time she gets out on the court,” said Carr. “I can remember scouting her during club season of her eighth grade year and getting excited about her potential on the court. That dedication to volleyball has really helped her game improve exponentially over the past two years [at Roswell.]”
