With a roster filled with interchangeable parts, versatility and selfless play have been keys to Centennial’s record setting season on the hard court.

Junior Becca Davis is a prime example of that. The 5-foot-9 guard has spent time running the point, roaming the three-point line as a wing and has even slid inside to a post position in the post.

“She plays the one, two and four for us depending on what we need,” said third-year Centennial head coach Robert White of Davis. “She is a very unselfish player, a great teammate and does whatever needs to be done to help [win games].”

Winning games is something Davis and her teammates have done at a record-setting pace during the 2012-2013 campaign. When the regular season wrapped up last weekend Centennial was sitting with an 18-6 record — a school record for victories in a season —and winners of 11 of 15 since returning from the holiday break.

Davis’ play has highlighted the Lady Knights run. The junior is averaging 12 points per game (scoring a season-high 24 in a late January win over West Forsyth), leads the team in assists with 4.5 per contest and has been Centennial’s best deep threat all season — shooting 33 percent from beyond the arc.
