Care Bacon is doing her part to keep the freight train known as Woodland Lady Wolfpack basketball on the track en route to its intended destination.

Bacon and company are primed to compete for the GHSA state Class 4-A basketball title, provided the team keeps getting solid contributions like hers.

The senior guard is part of a talented ensemble whose steady production helped propel Woodland to a 19-1 start.

Bacon, who stands 5 foot 7, will continue to be called upon to play an all-around game predicated on opportunistic offense and disruptive defense. Opposing players and coaches know her well and, still, Bacon manages to impact games.

Look for that Lady Wolfpack train to continue barreling toward a postseason berth and ensuing playoff run — with Bacon riding shotgun.
