Caroline Heys finished each of her first three lacrosse seasons at Westminster with state championships.

Her final campaign proved to be no different as the senior attacker led the Wildcats to their fourth consecutive Class A-AAAAA title.

Heys scored five goals and had five assists in Westminster’s 15-7 victory over McIntosh in the championship game May 18.

It was another outstanding season for Heys, who had 97 goals and 57 assists for 154 total points as well as a 71.9 percent shooting percentage and was named the A-AAAAA Player of the Year by DiVarsity.com.

She received another honor last Friday when she was named a first-team All-America by the Georgia chapter of U.S. Lacrosse. Heys finished her career at Westminster as the school’s career leader in goals (223), assists (135) and total points (358).

“Caroline was a very special player for us and had a real knack for running our offense,” Westminster coach Jay Watts said. “She was a deadly accurate shooter and passer. Towards the end of the season, more teams started keying on her with their defensive gameplan and she adapted to include more and more people in the offense. She had her best game of the year in the state finals.”
