When Drew Jackson was a freshman, her former coach Brent Hilpert talked about how she had the chance to be one of the best lacrosse players at Woodward Academy.

Three seasons later and with her final campaign underway, the midfielder Jackson is atop 14 school records and has been named to the U.S. Lacrosse All-America team twice.

“My biggest accomplishment has been getting the All-American honor for two years in a row,” said Jackson, who scored a school-best 134 goals last season. “Because not only was I recognized here at Woodward for my achievements but nationally.”

“Drew is definitely the best lacrosse player Woodward has ever seen and has the potential to be one of the best lacrosse players ever in the state,” Woodward girls’ lacrosse coach Meghan Fox said. “She broke every school record we have except for saves.”

As a result of her efforts on the field, Jackson had the attention of several Division-I programs such as Florida, Virginia and Virginia Tech but decided to head west and sign with USC.

“It was academics that steered me towards USC because of the journalism program, which is No. 1 in the nation,” said Jackson, who has a 3.2 GPA and wants to be a sports broadcaster.
