The junior standout, who is in third year swimming for the Spartans, has already qualified for the state meet in three events – the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.00 seconds, the 100 butterfly (1:02.04) and the 100 freestyle (56.00).
She has also helped a couple of North Springs’ relay teams earn spots at state – the 200 medley relay with L.E. Laupus, Cayla Robertson and Madison Demetry (2:03.93) and the 200 freestyle relay with Laupus, Robertson and Elizabeth Gilbert (1:48.06).
North Springs coach Julie Ferris said Plowman sets a good example on the team with her work ethic and leadership ability.
“She is very dedicated and committed to improving her times,” Ferris said. “She helps out the other kids and she leads by example.”
Plowman is also a member of Atlanta’s Dynamo swim club.
