The postseason has been no different for the 5-foot-8 senior shooting guard and Princeton signee, who scored 19 points to lead the Lions to a 47-37 victory over Model in the first round of the Class AA state tournament last Tuesday.
Brown leads the team in scoring with about 13 points a game for the season and has averaged 15 points over the last four games.
She had a season-high 26 points in the Lions’ 48-39 victory over Fairfield (Ala.) Jan. 19 as well as 21 points each in a 43-19 win over local rival Pace Nov. 27 as well as a 47-44 defeat of St. Francis Dec. 7.
Lovett coach Liz Kennedy said scoring is among the things Brown brings to the team.
“She is probably one of the best shooters in the state,” Kennedy said. “She can really fill it up, so she is a big scoring threat for us. But, she gives us a lot of leadership and experience at the guard position, especially at this time of year. She’s also a great defender. She is guarding one of [our opponent’s] best guards on the floor, so she’s huge all the way around.”
