Hickey, a 5-foot-6 forward, also had eight of her points in the second quarter when Union Grove went on a 22-8 run for a 29-15 halftime lead.
A couple of offensive rebounds by Hickey led to four of her six points in the third as the Lady Wolverines stretched their lead to 20 points and kept it near that margin the rest of the way.
“When I first started playing, I was the tall one so ever since then I've had a big mentality,” Hickey said. “It has just stayed with me even though I’m one of the shortest people out there. I just have a big heart to play in the post.”
“I've tried to move her outside a little bit but I realized I’m messing up,” Union Grove girls’ basketball coach Dock Gammage said. “Even though she may be a little bit smaller than everybody, her heart makes her a lot bigger than she really is. She is definitely a warrior inside.”
Hickey would like to play basketball on the next level but has a stronger desire to attend Georgia and major in biology.
