Heavy delays anticipated on Windward Parkway, Rucker Road in Alpharetta

Motorists who travel through the Windward Parkway/Westside Parkway Intersection in Alpharetta should anticipate heavy delays Sept. 23 to 27. The city of Alpharetta will be repaving the area as part of a larger intersection improvement project.

The activity will require frequent lane closures between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily, creating heavy delays on both roads.

Motorists are strongly urged to select alternative travel routes to avoid this intersection.

Those traveling east/west are encouraged to use Old Milton Parkway/State Route 120 as their primary route. Motorists traveling north/south should consider using North Point Parkway or State Route 9.

Motorists who travel Rucker Road in Alpharetta should anticipate heavy delays Sept. 23 to 27. The city of Alpharetta will be repaving a section of the roadway located between Wills Road and Harris Road.

The activity will require frequent lane closures between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.

Drivers are strongly urged to select alternative travel routes and avoid using Rucker Road if possible.

Motorists traveling to and from Cherokee and Cobb Counties are encouraged to use State Route 92/Holcomb Bridge Road as their primary east/west travel route.
