Commissioners must decide how to allocate nearly $1 million.
The hearing is July 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Administration Building, 140 Henry Parkway in McDonough.
The 2013 allocation is $971,360, about $121,000 more than in 2012.
The proposed activities include the funding of public services, housing rehabilitation, public facilities and infrastructure improvements and program administration.
The county anticipates expending its 2013 allocation as follows:
Public facilities/infrastructure improvements: $471,384
City of Hampton storm water improvements: $113,000
City of Stockbridge community pool: $150,000
Housing assistance: $160,000
Public services: $145,704
Planning and administration: $194,272
Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity: $160,000
Connecting Henry: $49,704
Hands of Hope Clinic: $30,000
A Friend’s House: $30,000
Haven House: $36,000
The draft Annual Action Plan establishes the proposed use of these funds.
Citizens and other interested parties are encouraged to review the draft plan and submit their written comments during the public comment period, which has been extended through July 12 at 5 p.m.
Comments can be mailed to the board of commissioners at the administration building or emailed to email@example.com.
A receipt of all comments received will be submitted to HUD on or about July 22.
