Councilwoman Karen Richardson became the city’s mayor pro tem Monday, taking over former Mayor Pro Tem Bev Miller’s unexpired term through December 2015.

Miller had to resign from council upon qualifying as a mayoral candidate for the November municipal elections.

The vote to appoint Richardson as mayor pro tem was 4-2 with Mayor Mike Bodker and Kelly Stewart in opposition.

Congratulations to Karen Richardson. She will make a wonderful mayor pro tem!

Funny how the mayor didn't vote for her! He was pro- Richardson when the city council was first formed!

So, my question to the mayor is this:

Why didn't you vote for Karen? Cat got your tongue?

I would like to know why Bodker and Stewart didn't vote for Karen.

Sounds like they are sour grapes about the investigation. Or are they picking up their marbles and going home because they couldn't have their way on anything and everything?

Karen Richardson is a qualified person to be mayor pro tem.
