Local schools announce retiring teachers

The following teachers and staff members in the Neighbor Newspapers’ coverage area have announced their retirement:

Lovett

o Mary Baldwin, lower school principal, retiring after 17 years of service to Lovett.

o Betsy Brown, Academic Resource Center learning specialist, retiring after 11 years of service to Lovett.

o Joye Callaway, director of the Academic Resource Center, retiring after 16 years of service to Lovett.

o Bill Dunkel, assistant headmaster, retiring after 16 years of service to Lovett.

o Gwen Mercer, dining services, retiring after 9 years of service to Lovett.

o Martha Osborne, lower school chaplain, retiring after 20 years of service to Lovett.

o Wayne Parker, audio/visual specialist, retiring after 42 years of service to Lovett.

Marist

o John McGreaham, English teacher and long-term adviser for Marist’s student newspaper, is retiring after 42 years with Marist. He is a 1965 graduate of Marist.

o Sergio Stadler and Stefanie Stadler. Sergio, the longtime varsity girls’ soccer coach, teaches math. He has been with Marist his whole 39-year teaching career. Stefanie is also retiring after a 26-year career teaching theater at Marist in the fine arts department.

o Mary Ann Zins. Zins is ending a 40-year career as a math teacher, 34 of them at Marist School.

o Jack Cogan. Cogan is ending a 43-year career as a math teacher, 15 at Marist School.

North Atlanta

o Eileen V. Barrett, teacher of deaf/hard of hearing, after 40 years with Atlanta Public Schools (started in 1974 at Northside High)

St. Pius X

o Gene Brisbane, math teacher, is retiring after 38 years at St. Pius X — 49 overall

Westminster

o Kristi Kerins, head of lower school, three years at Westminster, 40-plus in education

o Lasley Gober, upper school English, 20 years at Westminster

Woodward

o Ben Hines, upper school director of bands, 12 years at Woodward

o Joanne Hood, second grade at Woodward North, 11 years at Woodward

o Patsy McBridge, instructional aide at Woodward North, 16 years at Woodward

o Kathy Rehe, lower school dance teacher, 34 years at Woodward

o Ina Shaver, middle school administrative assistant, 30 years at Woodward

o Anne Spratlin, lower school assistant principal, 45 years at Woodward

o Wanda Straughn, nurse and after-school care director at Woodward North, 24 years at Woodward

o Lee Vincent, Woodward North principal, 38 years at Woodward

o Genia Vincent, physical education and health at Woodward North, 35 years at Woodward
