That big-play ability was on full display Last Friday against Sequoyah when the speedy senior busted scoring runs of 59 and 53 yards while rolling up a season high 276 yards and five touchdowns.
“Terrence has been great for us all year,” said Northview head coach Chad Davenport of Upshaw, who crossed the 1,000 yard barrier against the Chiefs. “He is great in the running game, great in the passing game and we are even asking him to play defense for us right now.
“He was tremendous [against Sequoyah] in the running game in particular, but it wasn’t really surprising because that is what he has done all year for us.”
Upshaw’s big night as a runner followed a strong performance in a win over North Springs as a return man. The shifty senior returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown, a punt 39 yards to pay-dirt and pounded in one of his 18 rushing touchdowns this season to boot.
“We ask him to do a lot…but that’s because I know I can count on Terrence to give me everything he’s got on every single play,” Davenport said.
