The 5-foot-10, 185-pound senior running back rushed for 177 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns as well as scoring on a 99-yard kickoff return early in the first quarter to lead the Eagles to a 28-21 victory over their Region 5AAAAAA rivals.
Toliver has been a solid performer in the Milton backfield all season, leading the team in rushing with 547 yards and six touchdowns as well as leading in kick returns with 553 yards on 14 attempts and two touchdowns and punt returns with 140 yards on eight tries going into the Eagles’ game with Cherokee last Friday.
He has accumulated 1,334 total yards through Milton’s first eight games to lead the team in that category as well.
Toliver’s 177-yard performance against Walton was his second 100-yard plus game, having 118 yards on 17 carries in the Eagles’ 33-3 win over north Fulton archrival Roswell Sept. 20.
“Chad is a very explosive athlete who has great vision and field awareness,” Milton coach Howie DeCristofaro said. “He is also a young man of great character and perseverance.”
