The 6-foot-5-inch senior post player leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds a game.
Goodson especially asserted himself during a five-game stretch in December in which he averaged 28 points and 17 rebounds per contest.
During that stretch, he scored 35 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in Riverwood’s 69-65 victory over Sprayberry Dec. 14 and had 11 points and 20 rebounds in a 46-42 loss to Pope Dec. 4.
Goodson has continued to contribute in recent games, scoring 14 points to help the Raiders beat Dunwoody 56-54 Jan. 12.
“He’s a very strong, athletic kid,” Riverwood coach Buck Jenkins said. “He’s a tough matchup. He plays the post, but he’s really more of a perimeter player. He shoots the ball well and he’s good on the fast break.”
Goodson also played wide receiver on the Riverwood football team and is considering a college career in both sports.
