Dutchtown’s Michael Warren is steadily making a name for himself on the baseball diamond.

For starters, the junior centerfielder has been feasting on opposing pitching this season.

Warren was hitting .493 while accounting for 33 hits and 16 RBI — including seven doubles and a homerun — in his first 67 plate appearances. Moreover, his 29 runs scored, on-base percentage of .547 and five stolen bases further cements his status as a certified winner.

So what makes him so good?

“Work ethic and attitude,” said Bulldogs coach Michael Breedlove. “[Warren] is a relentless competitor.”

That just goes to show that a dynamic skill set combined with the right intangibles can take a talented player very far.

Warren is one such player. And, it appears that he’s only getting better. That’s enough to keep opposing pitchers and coaches up at night.

For the Dutchtown baseball faithful, that’s more than enough reason enough to smile. The fact that he’s poised to be back in uniform next year only sweetens the deal.
