MyGrant had served as North Atlanta’s principal for the past five years and was Sutton Middle’s principal the previous 10 years.
After a 33-year career in education, he will formally retire this month. But MyGrant will return a month later to lead preparations for the start of classes for the new school year Aug. 6, as well as continue plans for the relocation of the school’s students, faculty and staff to their new location, scheduled for the start of the 2013-14 school year. Tentative plans are for him to return as principal for three months, after which a new principal is expected to be hired.
The search for a new leader for North Atlanta will continue to include participation by parents and members of the local community. School system officials are hopeful the process will be concluded by fall.
