Paideia places in three academic challenges

Three groups of Paideia scholars have recently placed in state and local academic competitions.

 Junior High Academic Bowl places second in state
The Paideia junior high Academic Bowl team placed second in the state championship. Following the preliminaries, the Pythons were seeded first in a field of 66 middle school teams and won four of five games in the single elimination play-offs. In the championship match, the team lost to Trickum Middle School by only one question.

Team members included Logan Casey, Emma Tucker, Julia Cornick, Moey Rojas, William Currey, Hannah Neiditz, Kenneth Neighbors, Miles Calderon, Emma Lin, Bronwyn Katz, Brooks Holcomb, Nathan Karnik, Colin Courtney and Matthew Schnell.

 Junior High Math Team takes second in GAC Tournament
The Paideia junior high math team finished second out of 10 schools in the small school category in a math tournament at Greater Atlanta Christian School this month. Team members included Alex Andersen, Emily Breaux, Stuart Duffield, Daniel Fridkin, Lynn Jacobs, Allison Levitas, Lucas Mavromatis, Anna Newman, Marisa Schwartz and Jordan Valdes.

 High school team competes in state Science Olympiad
The high school Science Olympiad team competed in and finished 12th overall out of the top 24 teams in the state, from all school classifications. Paideia was the highest ranked single A school and one of the few non AAAA, AAAAA or AAAAAA schools to compete. Sophia Tigges and Albert Seoh placed first in the state in the Rocks and Minerals event at the competition.
