Each school was represented on the region level with a player from their boys’ or girls’ teams making the first team, second team or honorable mention.
Making the girls’ first team from Paulding County were two North Paulding players, Sydney David and Alexus Lawson, as well as South Paulding’s Erica Parker.
This season, the North Paulding girls finished the season with a 13-2-3 record and advanced to the second round of the state playoffs — the farthest in the postseason of all the high school teams in the Paulding school district.
The girls’ second team had two players from East Paulding, Kalea Romano and Theresa Stevens. Naslyn Green and Ashton Zaluski of North Paulding made the cut also. Jordan Ketchman from Paulding County High and Melissa Rogers of South Paulding round out the second team players from the area.
Hanna Olsen of North Paulding and Scout Hogan of South Paulding made the honorable mention list.
The boys’ first team featured six players from the Paulding County School District. From Hiram, two players, Alex Derby and Jeovanny Trejo, were named to the team. North Paulding was represented by Zack Toomer. Tony Haney was selected from Paulding County High and TC Cannon and Davonte Kirksey came from South Paulding.
Five players from the school district also were selected to the boys’ second team — Miles Hemphill of East Paulding, Christopher Dorismond of Hiram, Ragan Bailey and Danny Pereira of North Paulding, and Zach Phelps of Paulding County High.
Named to the honorable mention list were Darian Dowen of East Paulding and Christian Villa of Hiram.
East Paulding, North Paulding and South Paulding all advanced to the boys playoffs this year but all lost in the first round – East lost to Clarke Central 5-1, North lost to Gainesville 3-0 and South lost to Heritage 4-2.
East Paulding finished with an 11-6-1 record, North Paulding ended the year at 7-8 and South Paulding wrapped up the season with a 9-8 record.
