The event will showcase up to 200 artists and crafters with special consideration for local artists. The festival is organized and run by artist volunteers who understand the needs and challenges of artists and how best to connect with consumers during this difficult economy.
Organizers describe the festival as Inman Park meets Yellow Daisy, meets Indie Craft, meets Buckhead Arts Festival, complete with arts, crafts, a children’s area, and local foods and beverages. And watch out for some surprises, like last year’s “Flash Mob!”
“We are constantly asked to ‘remember the local artists’ when planning our festivals. So this is our best effort to bring back the tradition of past years when local artists could have the opportunity to show and sell their work in Atlanta’s most famous park,” foundation President Patrick Dennis said. “We listened to our artists and are proud to offer this event to our local arts community.”
Times are Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Aug. 19 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission is free. The park is located at 1071 Piedmont Ave.
