Read about cancellation plans for local DeKalb July 4 activities

With the forecast of rain throughout the metro area for tomorrow, several cities and organizations have decided to postpone their Fourth of July activities.

Below are a few of the DeKalb offerings and the current status of those events:

-Dunwoody 4th of July Parade
The parade and activities, sponsored by the Dunwoody Homeowners Association, will continue as planned. It will only be canceled if there is lightning or an electrical storm.

-Stone Mountain – Fantastic Fourth Celebration
Stone Mountain Park’s Fantastic Fourth Celebration, which includes a laser show and fireworks, will continue as planned tomorrow, unless there are high winds and lightning. The park also has both events scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

-Decatur
Decatur’s Pied Piper Parade, Concert on the Square and fireworks show have all been postponed until Sept. 28. There will be no events tomorrow.

-Avondale Estates
The city of Avondale Estates will continue with its parade tomorrow morning, but it has postponed its fireworks show until Aug. 31.
