Sandy Springs Festival to close some roads

This weekend's 28th annual Sandy Springs Festival will require some roads to be closed, the city of Sandy Springs announced Tuesday in a news release.

Festival hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Friday and throughout the festival:

o Sandy Springs Place will be closed between Sandy Springs Circle and Bluestone Road beginning at 10 a.m.

o Sandy Springs Circle will be closed between Mount Vernon Highway and Sandy Springs Place beginning at 2 p.m.

o Bluestone Road will be closed to southbound traffic only beginning at 11 a.m.

o Hilderbrand Drive will be closed between Sandy Springs Circle and Bluestone Drive beginning at 5 p.m.

The roads will reopen by 10 p.m. Sunday.

Free parking is available at the Century Springs East and West office complex located at the corner of Lake Forrest Drive and Hammond Drive. The Cooper-Global Transportation Shuttle service will drop off and pick up at Gate 4 (Sandy Springs Circle at Hammond Drive) throughout the weekend.

The festival is a yearly fundraiser benefiting Heritage Sandy Springs, a nonprofit serv-ing the community.
