Thomas W. Malone Jr. in September pleaded guilty in Federal District Court to charges of conspiracy to distribute a dangerous controlled substance, synthetic marijuana, through his Alpharetta-based business, NutraGenomics. He is set to be sentenced later this month.
Sandy Springs officials were told late last month Jeannine Malone was married to a convicted felon after they were notified by Lance Dyer of Bremen, who has been investigating NutraGenomics. Dyer has looked into the company since March, when his 14-year-old son committed suicide after taking a synthetic drug.
Sworn in as assistant solicitor for Sandy Springs’ municipal court Dec. 3, Jeannine Malone resigned Tuesday after the city learned of her husband’s criminal charges.
She is a graduate of Georgia State University College of Law and previously clerked for Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville and interned in the DeKalb County Recorders Court.
