Sandy Springs will be among the presenters at the event, which brings together leaders from 100 Chinese cities and towns whose gross domestic product accounts for 40 percent of the national total to discuss urban development. Sandy Springs Mayor Pro Tem Tiberio “Tibby” DeJulio has been invited to participate as a panel speaker at the forum. The event, hosted by China National TV, will focus on “collectively finding new urbanization approaches.”
Discussions will include the sharing of case study successes and growth strategies. In addition to leaders from relevant ministries and commissions, the forum is attended by heads of private enterprises which closely relate with urbanization and construction.
“The invitation is a tremendous honor for the city and testament to our success with the public-private model,” said DeJulio. “I look forward to being a part of this exchange of ideas.”
As part of his trip, he will meet with Taicang City Mayor Wang Jianfeng. Taicang is an international friendship city with Sandy Springs.
