Paulding County residents will have their choice of a variety of family fun events this weekend — everything from big trucks to wrestling matches and classic cars.

The Paulding County Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting its annual Touch A Truck. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at Mt. Tabor Park in Dallas and is free to the public.

The event gives residents a chance to see and experience different types of public utilities and county government emergency vehicles — fire trucks to county Department of Transportation vehicles, transfer trucks and more. Lifeflight medical emergency helicopter has been a part of the event every year, said program coordinator Tena Eddy.

“One of the most popular exhibits is the school bus,” she said.

Attendees will get the chance to sit inside the different vehicles, turn on sirens and blow the horns.

For the fourth year Radio Disney will be broadcasting live from the event. Eddy said 22 agencies confirmed participation for Touch A Truck as of April 16, she said.

“I’m hoping we have a few surprises show up, too,” Eddy said.
