UPDATED AT 7:10 P.M. POLLS CLOSED

Polls have closed across Fulton County. Results are expected to start coming in at 8 p.m. according to county election officials. More voters came out at the end of the day at at least one polling location.

"It was very heavy at the end. We had a total of 681 vote," said Janet McClain, precinct manager of RW09 at Union Primitive Baptist Church.

McClain said she will be bringing those results to Roswell City Hall at which point they will be reported to the county.

Please check back throughout the night as elections results are determined.

UPDATED AT 6:35 P.M. ON VOTER TURNOUT:

Voter turnout has been a little higher than expected at at least one north Fulton precinct.

Gary Chapman, JC11 precinct manager, said at 6:30 p.m. he only expected to see about 400 voters at that time, but 552 residents had come out to vote.

Chapman said there were 12 people voting at the time, and he said the fewest amount he has seen at one time was four or five.

Scattered rain showers around Atlanta are not keeping voters from casting their ballots today.

Gary Chapman, JC11 precinct manager, said it is "even busier" around lunchtime than early this morning at State Bridge Elementary School. He said most of the nine voting stations stay full at all times.

By 12:30 p.m., Janet McClain, precinct manager of RW09, said 265 people voted at Union Primitive Baptist Church.

"It's been a steady stream all the time," McClain said.

POSTED AT 9:07 A.M.:

North Fulton voters are flowing smoothly in and out of voting booths this morning.

By 7:30 a.m. today, Janet McClain, precinct manager of RW09 said she tracked an average of one person a minute at church, and 90 people voted by 8:45 a.m.

"We had heard there was a higher number of pre-voters, so the turn-out has been about the same as I expected," McClain said.

She said there are 2,412 registered voters in their area.

"Every election is totally different," said Chapman. "It is really close to the same volume that we ran in the election for the presidential primary earlier this year."

Chapman said there was a line of about eight people at 7 a.m. today at State Bridge Elementary School and he counted 77 voters around 8:50 a.m.

"We are in a politically active precinct of 3,146 voters," he said. "Throughout this precinct, they start early and pretty much dribble in all day long."

One precinct manager said he was a little surprised by a low number of voters.

"Frankly, I'm a little disappointed," said Don Nahser, precinct manager of ML04l. "But it's no big deal. We have ten more hours to go."

Nahser said with the interest in the T-SPLOST, he was expecting more than the 62 voters he saw by 9 a.m. this morning at Hopewell Middle School.

"We did have a small line this morning at 7 a.m. when we opened," he said. "We've had somebody here al the time but it was only once or twice that we had all eight voting booths full."

Nahser said there are 2,525 registered voters in the area and this election seems to have the same volume of voters as previous elections.

McClain, Chapman and Nahser all said they expect the highest volume of voters to be after work hours from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
