In a news release, the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts announced Wednesday the left southbound lane of Ashford Dunwoody Road from Hammond Drive to the westbound on-ramp of Interstate 285 will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5a.m. Monday and Tuesday to allow the removal of existing streetlights.
Wednesday, one right lane southbound and one right lane northbound of the Ashford Dunwoody Road bridge will close between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for night construction. In August 2011, the Georgia Department of Transportation awarded a $4.6 million contract to E.R. Snell Contractors Inc. of Snellville for the Ashford Dunwoody at I-285 diverging diamond interchange project, a concept that was initiated by the Perimeter CID.
The first diverging diamond interchange in Georgia, the Ashford Dunwoody/I-285 project is an innovative, low-cost solution to improve traffic flow and safety.
