The city of Alpharetta and the Rotary Club of Alpharetta have partnered to host A Midsummer Night’s Mayor’s Run and Fun Movie Night this Friday night.

The 5k running event, a Peachtree qualifier, takes place in the heart of downtown Alpharetta and raises funds for north Fulton nonprofit organizations.

Raffles tickets can be purchased before the event for a chance to win two third generation Apple iPads.

Raffle tickets are $10 each, and the winner will be announced at 9 p.m. during the race festivities. The winner need not be present to win.

Funds raised through the raffle will be used to fund Rotary community service projects.

Purchase raffles tickets and sign up for the race at www.mayorsrunandfun.com.

Race check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. on Milton Avenue — along with the party, food, libations and sponsor booths on Milton Avenue.

At 7 p.m., the fun run begins on Milton Avenue, and at 7:30 the race warmup begins at the corner of Milton Avenue and Canton Street.

At 7:45 p.m., the 5K begins at the corner of Milton and Roswell Streets, and at 8:45, awards will be given out.

At 9 p.m., the PG-13-rated film “Mirror, Mirror” will be shown on a large inflatable screen on Milton Avenue.
