In the District 21 State Senate race between Republican candidates Chip Rogers, the incumbent, and Brandon Beach, Rogers is the victor.

Throughout election night, Rogers maintained a steady 60 percent of the vote, while Beach had 40 percent when looking at both Cherokee and Fulton County. In only Fulton County, Beach pulled 50.88 percent of the votes, while Rogers had 49.12 percent. But that likely won't be enough to sway the overall vote.

To close to call at this point is the race between Jeff Kazanow and Robert Montigel — two Democrat candidates vying to face off against District 6 U.S. Rep. Tom Price, R-Roswell, in November.

With 19,004 votes counted in the three counties of Fulton, Cobb and Dekalb, Kazanow has 9,763 and Montigel has 9,385.

With 338 precincts of 348 reporting in the Fulton County sheriff's race, incumbent Ted Jackson has 49.85 percent, while his opponents and fellow Democrats Frank L. Brown, Curtis S. Farmer, former Fulton sheriff Richard Lankford and Charles Shelton had 9.30 percent, 3.46 percent, 32.6 percent and 4.78 percent, respectively.

In the Tax Commissioner Democrat primary race between incumbent Arthur E. Ferdinand and his opponents John Jamont and R.J. Morris, Ferdinand ended the night with 70 percent of votes. Jamont had 14.82 percent and Morris had 14.63 percent.
