Fernbank Museum of Natural History, 767 Clifton Road, N.E., Atlanta, will host its annual Dinosaur Birthday Bash Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The party will celebrate the 12th anniversary of the museum’s beloved permanent exhibition, Giants of the Mesozoic. All are invited to celebrate a day dedicated to the world’s largest dinosaurs.

Numerous dinosaur-themed activities will take place throughout the celebration. Offerings will include:

 Birthday Ice Cream courtesy of Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, starting at 10 a.m. and available while supplies last, Great Hall. Visitors can treat themselves to free ice cream (courtesy of the Toco Hills and Decatur Locations) Limited quantities. One scoop per person.

 Stomp Your Theropod Feet Craft, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Great Hall. Transform your five-toed feet into Giganotosaurus-style stompers in this simple craft activity, and wear them home over your shoes.

 Dinosaur Games, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Great Hall. Enjoy a variety of dinosaur-themed party games.

 Danny’s Dinosaur, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Great Hall. Have your camera ready to meet the infamous dinosaur from the children’s book “Danny’s Dinosaur.” Danny will make several appearances at various times throughout the event.

 Temporary Dinosaur Tattoos, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Great Hall. Wear your dinosaur pride with a fun, temporary dinosaur tattoo.

 Dinosaur Photo Opportunities, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., museum-wide. Enjoy a variety of special dinosaur photo opportunities around the museum, including an up-close view of the Giganotosaurus skull.

 Museum Store Sidewalk Sale, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Main Store (entry level).

 Jason’s Music Party, 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., Great Hall. Enjoy an interactive musical experience for kids and families, featuring songs about dinosaurs and a Happy Birthday song to the Giganotosaurus and Argentinosaurus.

 Fly By Night Marching Band, 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. Join us for a special performance from the Fly By Night Marching Band, to wish the dinosaurs a happy birthday.

Dinosaur Birthday Bash is part of Fernbank’s 97 Days of Play summer series, which features a variety of unique activities and events to keep families entertained and inspired during the summer months.
