Toro founded the Atlanta office of North American Properties in 1996 and since then has led the acquisition, development and redevelopment of more than seven million square feet.
An industry veteran, he has completed more than 60 projects, totaling 19 million square feet, in his 26 year career in commercial real estate.
Toro is currently focused on building North American’s portfolio by identifying opportunities to acquire or develop retail, multifamily and mixed use assets, adding value by leading a select group of best-in-class professionals engaged in development, leasing, management, marketing and finance.
Prior to opening the Atlanta office, he served as managing director for Faison & Associates and Vice President of Development at Cousins/New Market Development Company. Toro holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University.
For the Chamber’s breakfast meeting, Toro will focus on North American Properties’ Alpharetta development, Avalon, which is anticipated to open in April 2014.
Avalon, a mixed-use development project, is expected to bring $700 million of investment, jobs and economic activity to Alpharetta.
The event, which begins at 7:30 a.m., is open to members and non-members alike.
