The senior pitcher has showed just how important she is to the team during the Lady Wildcats’ run to the Region 6AA championship.
Bonnot pitched all three of Westminster’s games in the 6AA tournament, leading the Lady Wildcats to wins over Greater Atlanta Christian, Lovett and Wesleyan to claim the region title. She didn’t stop there as she led Westminster to a sweep of Pepperell in the first round of the Class AA state playoffs as the winning pitcher in the Lady Wildcats’ 7-1 victory in the opening game and 4-2 win in game two.
“She had quite a run [during the 6AA tournament],” Westminster coach Brent McGuire said. “She pitched three games within 72 hours. She knows how to rise to the occasion.”
Bonnot has compiled a 15-12 record with a 2.08 earned run average and has 211 strikeouts in 160 innings this season.
She has set a new school record for most career wins with 51, breaking the old mark of 46 set by Margaux Black from 2003 to ’05.
Bonnot has also made her mark at the plate for the Lady Wildcats with a .308 batting average, 23 RBIs, seven doubles and a .400 on-base percentage.
