Landmark Christian senior outside hitter Tiffany Creamer sealed all three games against Atlanta International on Oct. 23 with vicious spikes as the Lady War Eagles advanced to the Elite Eight of the Class A playoffs.

But after a seeding meeting, Landmark was awarded the No. 2 overall seed and earned a bye. As a result, the Lady War Eagles will face Savannah Christian at Pinecrest Academy in the semifinals Wednesday.

Creamer finished with 20 kills, 12 digs and five aces, and Ellen Anderson had 34 assists in the 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-14) home victory and 13th consecutive win for Landmark.

“I just do what I can when I get the ball and I have great teammates,” Creamer said. “I’ve got to give Ellen credit—she’s a great setter.”

“She’s our leader,” Landmark volleyball coach Sheri Creamer said. “I’m proud of her and all the girls.

“She had a phenomenal game and she’s earned a couple of accolades. I was pleased with her especially when the pressure was on.”

Surprisingly in the final game, the Lady War Eagles faced very little pressure, especially after pushing ahead 5-0, thanks to kills by Creamer and Kierstin Cusumano.

From there on, the Lady War Eagles maintained a comfortable margin between them and the Lady Eagles until an ace by Creamer made it 20-9.

“It’s very helpful to start out strong because you can relax a little bit afterwards,” Tiffany Creamer said.

Lilly Kessler and Chloe Garden added kills, and Jenny Luckie had an ace before Creamer ended Atlanta International’s season.

“Compared to the first games, they were ready for it,” Sheri Creamer said. “They were accurate. They were having a good time. They were relaxed.

“Hopefully, it doesn’t take two games to do that again before we are on that third game to relax,” she said. “I was very impressed. They ran everything well and they did what they know how to do.”

In the first game, the Lady War Eagles got their first lead (12-11) on a kill by Creamer and would be in front by as many as seven points before a 25-23 final.

In the second game, Landmark would claim the lead a little earlier, but the Eagles stay close until a pair of clutch kills by Mary-Michael McCathren and the final point by Creamer for a 25-23 triumph.
