The Neighborhood Planning Unit-B will hold its annual Election of Business Representatives Nov. 13 at St. Phillip’s Cathedral, 2744 Peachtree Road, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Twelve individuals are elected every year, from the surrounding business community to serve a one-year term on the NPU-B board. The elected business representatives and representatives from each of the 13 designated neighborhoods within the NPU-B, will serve as members of a citizen advisory council. They make recommendations to the Mayor and city council on zoning, land-use, licensing and other planning issues. NPU-B meetings are held in public the first Tuesday of every month.
Members of the local business community are invited to participate in the election. In order to vote, each person must be employed by a business located within NPU-B or own commercial property within NPU-B, reside within the city ofAtlanta, and the only individual from the business casting a vote. The business also must have been in continuous operation at the registered physical location in NPU-B a year prior to the election.
