The senior capped off her prep career by helping to guide the Lady Golden Eagles to a near-top 10 finish at the GHSA state meet over the weekend.
Milling built quite the reputation for, among other things, giving maximum effort at all times and rallying her teammates whenever the situation called for it.
“She’s just a hard worker, a great leader,” said Eagle’s Landing coach Claud Spinks. “She’s just everything you want in an athlete.”
The Lady Golden Eagles’ 2012 campaign marked Milling’s third season on the team.
During that time she has consistently gotten better — a testament to both skill and will.
“She’s an extremely hard worker … the kind that makes everyone around her better,” Spinks said. “And, she is tenacious. She’s not afraid of putting herself out there and enduring pain.
“She’s one of the toughest kids I know.”
The young, Eagle’s Landing runners poised to follow in Milling’s footsteps would perhaps be best served taking a page out of her book in terms of preparation, consistency and teamwork.
