Well-rounded is the perfect way to describe Paige Elliott’s game on the basketball court.

The 6-foot-1 junior has the size to be a force in the post; she’s athletic enough to score from 15-feet away and has been nothing short of dominant on the defensive end of the floor this season.

“Paige is really starting to establish herself this season and has had some outstanding games for us,” said Centennial basketball coach Robert White. “Against Sandy Creek she went against their 6-foot-3 center that is going to Temple and held the girl to just four points.”

Centennial beat Sandy Creek 44-43 on Nov. 17, one of four straight wins to open the Lady Knights season — by far their best start in recent years.

Along with her defensive efforts, Elliott had 11 points and nine rebounds in the win and is averaging a team leading 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocks through the early stages of her junior season.

“She gives our team another dimension with a true post player,” said White of Elliott, who averaged a team-leading 11 points and eight rebounds as a sophomore a year ago. “She’s a very smart player, unselfish, and is going to be a hard matchup for most teams because of her ability to shoot outside as well.”
