Ruby red glass, which dates to the ‘20s and ‘30s, isn’t made any more because small amounts of gold were used in it to achieve its rich, deep hue. Green glass from the ‘60s and blue Depression glass also are singular pieces.
Other ideas are mechanical banks with a NASA theme dating to the ‘60s, Toby mugs from the ‘50s and original Star Wars and Disney merchandise.

“We try to sell at wholesale or below,” he said. Barnhill is a gemologist and his son, Michael, is a master jeweler.

Prepare to be bowled over by the vast array of vinegars and olive oils Suzanne Davidson and Deborah Hardee have in their unusual retail store in a converted Canton Street cottage.
The vinegars are all balsamic and barrel-aged in Modena, Italy, with infusions of flavors such as peach, Sicilian lemon, cranberry pear and black cherry.
Tastes of any and all can be had either straight up or combined with a splash of one of the many extra virgin olive oils from around the world.
A splash of raspberry balsamic on a dot of cheesecake and a drizzle of blackberry ginger vinegar on plain vanilla ice cream were delightful revelations of the vinegars’ versatility.
Davidson and Hardee are extremely helpful in suggesting pairings of vinegars or oils with other foods and offer several recipe ideas on their web site.
The olive oils also come in tempting flavors such as basil, blood orange, Persian lime and Tuscan herb.
