The story Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem is the central theme to the holidays for Christians.

Aside from Santa and his reindeer, the meaning of Christmas has a spiritual meaning that supercedes the gifts wrapped under the tree.

Known as the Nativity, the story of the people and events surrounding one of the most revered days in history has been passed down from generations to generations.

As a holiday tradition in and of itself, Steps of Faith Dance Company Inc. presents its own version at the Grand Theatre.

The Nativity is an original show written and produced by the company in 2002. Every year, the show undergoes a few changes and updates to make the classic fresh from year to year.

In this version, the story of the birth of Jesus as told through the mother of Holly to her daughter who learns that Christmas is about Jesus, not about parties and presents. The biblical story is told through drama, ballet, pointe, and contemporary dance.
