The talented sophomore guard is evolving into a key cog for the Lady War Eagles this season.
"Kelsey is the rock of this basketball team," said Marist coach Kim Hixon. "Her extremely competitive demeanor and work ethic set the tone for our team in and out of season and on and off the court."
As her game continues to develop, Carrier will be counted on to help lead a team whose annual appetite for the GHSA state playoffs are perhaps better defined as expectations rather than aspirations.
Lady War Eagles coaches believe Carrier is more than up to the task.
"She is committed to excellence in everything she does and brings a toughness to this team that is second to none," said Hixon. "She is one of our leading scorers at the point position along with commanding our offenses and defenses up and down the floor!"
Carrier’s guard play should only get better as the 2012-13 season wears on. Points, assists and rebounds will tell only half the story. Playing disruptive defense and making big plays in big moments never really make it to the stat sheet.
Look for Carrier and company to make a lot of noise in region play and beyond this season.
"She truly amazes me each year how much heart and hustle she brings to the team and her never give up attitude," Hixon added.

Thank you for recognizing Miss Carrier in your news.
