The celebration, set for the Paulding County Senior Center, is a banquet in which the chamber recognizes a Paulding County “Citizen of the Year” and the “Business of the Year.”
The senior center is at 54 Industrial Way North in Dallas with a VIP reception at 6 p.m. and the dinner following at 7 p.m.
Jones is the longest-running radio morning show host in the Atlanta area, with a 23-year tenure, according to rhubarbjones.com.
“He is the entertainment for the evening,” said Kevin Kirby, director of member services of the chamber.
Jones has a comical take on politics, news and life in general, Kirby said.
“It is a fun festive event,” said Carolyn Wright, president and CEO of the chamber.
It is also a meeting to review the chamber’s work in the past year, and its goals for 2013, she said. Caric Martin, the 2012 chairman of the chamber board, will discuss his term, and 2013 chairman Don Barbour will discuss his plans for the chamber this year, Wright said.
The event is expected to attract around 350, she said.
“It is one of those events we do each year that people look forward to,” Wright said.
The chamber also is hosting Joe Gonzalez, the Los Angeles security guard who found and helped Mitch Comer, the Paulding County resident who allegedly was locked up by his stepfather and mother for four years, Kirby said. The chamber will honor him and Monica Moore, investigator for the Paulding County District Attorney, for helping bring Comer home to safety.
