District 31 State Sen. Bill Heath, R-Bremen, will serve as chairman and newly elected District 30 State Sen. Mike Dugan, R-Carrollton, will serve as vice chairman of the Senate Government Oversight Committee, according to a list of committee assignments released last week.
Heath also will serve on the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee, as well as the Finance and Agriculture committees. Dugan, who was chosen in a special election Jan. 8, also will serve on the Economic Development; Veterans, Military and Homeland Security; and State Institutions and Property committees.
In the House of Representatives, District 17 State Rep. Howard Maxwell, R-Dallas, will chair the Regulated Industries Committee, while District 19 State Rep. Paulette Braddock, R-Hiram, will serve as vice chairman of the Science and Technology Committee.
Maxwell also will serve on two powerful House committees, Appropriations and Education, as well as the Insurance and Retirement committees.
Braddock also will serve on the Juvenile Justice, Small Business Development, Special Rules, and Economic Development and Tourism committees.
New District 67 State Rep. Micah Gravley, R-Douglasville, and new District 66 State Rep. Kim Alexander, D-Douglasville, will join Braddock on the Economic Development and Tourism Committee.
Gravley also will serve as a member of the House Code Revision and Judiciary Non-Civil committees. District 67 includes part of southern Paulding County.
Alexander also will serve on the Code Revision; Intragovernmental Coordination; and Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment committees. District 66 includes part of southeast Paulding County.
